National Federation of Families

's Mental Health

Oklahoma Family Network is one of two State Chapters for the National Federation of Families for Children's Behavioral Health. While OFN serves families of children and young adults with mental health concerns and all special health care needs, Parents Helping Parents is the chapter that serves families with a loved one with substance use concerns.

The National Federation of Families (NFF), a national family-run organization, serves as the national voice for families of children who experience emotional, behavioral, and mental health and/or substance use concerns - across the lifespan. NFF:

  • Advocates at the national level for the inclusion of family voice in all aspects of services and supports across clinical, educational and community settings
  • Promotes effective partnerships among families, professionals, and policymakers at the local, state, and national level
  • Advances the value of lived experience and the family peer workforce to support families
  • Collaborates with family-run and mission-aligned organizations to transform family-serving systems and healthcare in America

While NFF advocates and promotes effective partnerships at the national level, Oklahoma Family Network fills this role in Oklahoma and supports the national work of the NFF.
