My son, Jeremy was born with significant medical needs, spent 11 days in the NICU getting a new diagnosis each day. Then we spent the next year's frequent hospital visits, multiple doctor appointments. I felt so alone during the first year of his life and wanted someone to talk to, to not feel so alone like I was the only one who had a child with special needs. I discovered the Parent to Parent in Oklahoma and I knew this was what I needed to do, my passion to help the families not feel what I felt. Then to help them stand on their feet and advocate for their own child.
