Erica is the lead Latino Coordinator for OFN and she primarily works with the Latinx community providing family support, information and resources. She also shares her lived experience to professionals and how to better serve her community. She also serves in different committees at the state and regional level to bringing her lived experience as a Latino parent, bringing the voice of her community. She is a parent of an young girl with with developmental disabilities. Her advise to families is to not be afraid of ask questions to the doctors and any other programs that are serving your child. You are the expert on your child and there is no wrong question to ask. Take one day a the time, take care of your self and become your child's first advocate.
