Oklahoma CARE Project Parent Professional Collaborative

A Unique Virtual Learning Experience for Professionals & Parents

This collaborative will bring together parents with children who are deaf and hard of hearing and professionals who provide services for these families to bring about a deeper understanding of the Oklahoma Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) process.

Parent and professional partners will explore the journey of Oklahoma EHDI: Celebrating 40 years of screening ears. This includes hearing how far Oklahoma has come over the years through screening, hearing loss diagnosis, and early intervention placement for children with hearing loss.

Professionals will be able to learn first hand from parents via a parent panel and family stories on how the process has impacted their families as well as how we as a state can more forward to ensure parent to parent support. All participants will have the opportunity to share experiences and/or tips and tricks they have learned through their personal and professional journey.
