• The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) is Oklahoma’s first officially designated Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO), coordinating long-range transportation planning across 16 counties in southwest Oklahoma to improve mobility, safety, infrastructure, and economic development.
• SORTPO brings together local governments, tribal nations, transportation providers, businesses, and residents to identify regional transportation priorities, develop consensus, encourage public participation, and help guide state and local transportation investments.
• Its primary initiative, Forward 45, is a 20-year multimodal transportation plan focused on improving highway safety, freight movement, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian access, infrastructure preservation, and quality of life while supporting future economic growth.
• The website provides transportation planning resources, interactive maps and data, public meeting information, funding opportunities, and online tools for residents to submit transportation safety concerns, transit needs, and feedback to help shape future regional transportation decisions.
